How binding do I need a 45 "x72" quilt?

How binding do I need a 45 "x72" quilt? Need a continuous band or bands you can piece together? If you look at it he botched Please?!

Here are some explanations http://www.quilterscache.com/StartQuiltingPages/startquiltingfive.html link: http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/2008/10/binding-tutorial.html Personally, I do what is called a "double fold binding. This means that you cut strips twice as wide as the liaison will then fold it in half and sew the sides cut to the front end of the quilt-fold everywhere, and hand sewing the finished, folded edge of binding to the back of the quilt. The advantages to this type of connection is that it is more sustainable because it is two layers, it looks nice, and it is relatively easy to do. The corners have a little extra work, but the first link above does a great job in explaining how. The amount of binding you need, first measure the quilt around. You have 45 + 45 + 72 + 72, plus about 12 "extra to be sure, for a total of 246. Cut strips 2 1 / 2 "wide edge to edge (width of fabric). The width of the fabric used is usually around 40 "- 42", so you'll need 6 strips. 6 strips x 2 1 / 2 "= 15" fabric, with a few extra inches for cutting twisted by the fabric store. I buy 1 / 2 yard. Sew the strips together end to end, and press the seams open. If you wish, sew the strips all diagonal – it makes on the folded edge less bulky. To do this, place the strips at right angles and sewn in diagonal. Looooong fold the strip in half lengthwise and press – I like to lightly spray with water or even spray starch or sizing because maintaining the crease much better. See links above for how to attach it to your quilt. As the recovery strips, I like the look of a link Scrappy, especially on a quilt Scrappy. I have used as many as eight different fabrics in a single binding.
