Straight Stitch

My Singer Sewing Machine stopped making Zig Zag and other novelty items. Just does not seam right.?
The needle does not move not side to side, remains only on one side and do the seams straight. Any help please?
Maybe time to perform maintenance. Try JoAnn, I think they are about $ 25.
