There is always Quilters who prefer piecing and Hand Quilting hand?
Are those pieced / Quilted Quilts worth anything?
Quilters out there are many who prefer the hand piece and hand quilt. Jinny Beyer Quilter is a well-known advocates reconstitute hand (see site below). There are two schools of thought on what is faster. For those machine room, they can do more in a single block of time. But people who handpiece can take their work with them and work on it whenever they are within a few minutes – waiting in line, etc. produce two a magnificent job. If I'm understanding your second post correctly, you wonder if anything pieced / quilted quilts are worth. Of course, they are. In fact, the Sewing Machine has been around for much longer than people think – since about 1850. In recent decades, those who could afford it took a sewing machine and used it for their number of quilts. Remember, there were two reasons for making quilts – as hedges beds attractive and useful but also decorative "status symbols". Those who made bed coverings wanted to do as quickly and easily as possible, so they used the machines if they were able to pay. Those who were status symbols used machines because they wanted shown to have the latest new thing. Even Amish Quilts are often reconstructed the (non-electrical) machinery pedal – it is a question of efficiency. I think quilting is a great way to express your creativity, whether you use a sewing machine or by hand. I oohed and aahed bitten on the hand quilting in all parts of the quilt shows, and I said during the complicated machine pieced and quilted as well. They are beautiful and should be judged on their merits, not by comparing them against each other.
