Is there a computer program to map (make your own) quilt squares?
I have many ideas that I want incorporate into quilts. Making patterns are hand many times. If you know of a computer program that helps you create patterns, if please let me know.
Electric Quilt out with a new version, then wait several weeks until you see EQ6 (instead of EQ5). I EQ5, and it is fantabulous. You can create your own blocks, of course, but you can also use existing blocks to create your own Quilt Designs. (EQ6 you will create your starting block of a block into force – which will save a lot of work.) You may be familiar with Barbara Brackman the encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns – there is a software companion program called BlockBase works with EQ so you can import all these blocks as well. The program is very easy to use and with excellent instructions. It is easy enough for my mother, a non-computer user, and is still strong enough for me. Visit Web EQ for more info. You can buy online EQ5 by Amazon (or Jo-Ann Fabrics), but it is not EQ6 distributed yet.
