Paper Piecing
What is that piece of paper a company gives u when they let u go?

They want you to sign a piece of paper saying why they fired you. Should I say no to sign it? And if I don’t sign it, will I still get paid?

It varies from company to company. I’m guessing it has something to do with what you are being fired for, what your rights are, what you are eligible for, that you agree to return any company property you may have, and so on, and so on.

Should you refuse to sign it? That all depends on what exactly it says. Whether you sign it or not, though, will not change the fact that you are being fired. It may, however, deny you some benefits that they are willing to offer you. Maybe it says that they will not contest unemployment benefits. If you don’t sign it, then they might contest it.

Of course, before you sign anything, make sure you fully understand what you are signing and what impact it has on you. If you have any questions, you should consult a lawyer about what your rights are and what this document is having you sign away (if anything).
