What is the narrow sense heritability (H2) of body weight in this population?
The body weight (mg) of 10 beetles are recorded: 118, 84, 95, 100, 109, 78, 108, 85, 118, 105. If the additive genetic variance is 60, then what is the narrow sense heritability (h2) of body weight in this population? I know that H ^ 2 = VA / VP, but I need to find Vp. The final answer, I believe, is limited between 0 and .5
first find the variance for the dataset V ^ 2 = STDEV = 200.89 h ^ 2 = Va / Vp = 60/200.89 = 0.2987
