How can I sew a zipper in a poketbook, purse or handbag?
I am new to sewing, and began working on some projects that im having trouble sewing a zipper into a purse I made … please help?
Whatever you put in the zipper … You must make your zipper before sewing all the pieces together, as if it were a pattern. Make sure you pull material with zip when you are sewing, if you do not come together too quickly on top. Make sure you use up close flash as someone else suggested. Cut a piece of material the length of the zipper of your choice. You'll need to add about 2 inches to the over all length. The width should be twice the amount you need for the center. you do because you bend the paper before sewing the zipper. Do this for both sides. Let the false documents at the center of the zipper before sewing down. This will help hide the appearance of the zipper. Depending on whether you have zippers to the correct length or if you have a roll of slide material will determine if you need to stop the zipper as well. Now that you have this complete, you can sew it in the appropriate place in your project.
