Cut Quilt

Can you answer a question re: putting quilt squares together?
I have four colors. A total of (20) 7″ Wide strips X 42″ long.
Do I sew the colors in the strips together and then cut into squares? Or do you recommend I cut the squares all into 7″ squares and then assort them like I want.
Strip quilting goes faster. If you sew the strips together then cut the squares the squares are more likely to come out exactly 7 inches. If you cut each square separately it will take much longer and (I’ve noticed) my squares are not all exactly the same which will make it more difficult to assemble. Either way will work fine it’s just my preference to sew the strips first . To me it’s easier and comes out better. PS don’t forget to iron your seams open before assembly , this makes everything go together more smoothely. Have fun happy quilting ; )
