Overlocking collection point?

I am new to overlocking and just bought a machine Janome 8002D with an attachment assembly for to 50s skirts. Even at the maximum setting, it does not collect. Does anyone know if there is a better footing for the picking. Also, I seen skirts made with a straight stitch for the picking. Does anyone know what this is please?

Overlock Gathering Foot for work better with lean tissue. They do not work with heavy fabrics. I suppose you use a heavier weight tulle petticoats to your text. A collection serger foot will not be able to do the job. I had a student who wishes to take her serger to make tutus. We tried everything but the serger "gathering" foot just could not handle the tulle. The best walk I found the collection is called a "foot Ruffler" and attaches to your machine sewing. They are rather clumsy looking but they work beautifully. The fabric weight is not a problem. Here is a link to what you like. You can buy more specific to your machine or generic medicines that meet all machines. (They are usually a lot cheaper.) I do not know of anything that works faster or better. http://www.mrvacmrssew.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/SFV/6757/vpid/1530630/vpcsid/0/rid/124114
